I've watched Man of Steel. It didn't go beyond my expectations, which doesn't say much, because I have zero expectations when it comes to Zack Snyder's movies. I mean, dude directed 300, a crappy movie I happen to love despite its campiness and cheesiness and silliness, so yeah, zero expectations. Though I have to tell you there's one reason and one reason only why I'm crazy about Man of Steel.
Man, he's hot.
I knew Henry Cavill from The Tudors and man, despite everything, he was hot. I didn't like The Tudors that much because it differed too much from actual events that happened in history but I watched every episode from Seasons 1 - 4 because of him. Too bad he kept himself clothed towards the end though but no matter! My love for him had already cemented.
Fun fact: Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell to GoT fans) played Anne Boleyn in The Tudors.
Enough fangirling about Henry Cavill. So what do I think of Man of Steel?
I think it was just an okay movie, well, the "okay" veers more to the "not okay" scale. There was nothing great about the movie except for the cinematography and some of the fighting scenes and of course, Henry Cavill. I watched the movie at IMAX and I felt like I was on the Transformers: The Ride-3D at USS and it was fun! The atmosphere was so similar I almost expected one of Optimus Prime's Autobots to appear on the screen. Go watch it on IMAX if you want to experience what it feels like to be on the Transformers 3D ride but your ass is too lazy to go to Singapore. It's cheaper too.
The sad thing is, the bad parts of the movie override the good parts.
I don't know what was wrong with Man of Steel. The pacing was jumbled up, there was no depth to the storyline, some of the fighting scenes looked cartoon-ish, and Lois Lane was pretty useless. I still don't know how the hell she came to be everywhere in the movie, but man, she was everywhere. Her character was pointless and added nothing to the storyline and Amy Adams was totally wrong for the role. And, yes, before you say anything, it should've been me. She stole my part!
And as much as it pains me to say this, Henry Cavill is so kayu. He conveyed no emotions whatsoever in all the scenes. Thank goodness he has a pretty face, because he has no talents to speak of. But it doesn't matter! My love for him is already written in the stars.
I'll end this totally pointless post with this photo
