Amazing

I don't know why I was so disappointed to see a rather known professor in history and politics stated that ".......Cumanya di Moscow kita tidak pergi kerana memboikotnya disebabkan bantahan kita kepada tindakan Rusia menceroboh Afghanistan..." In case you're wondering, he was talking about Malaysian national football team.

One, because it was Soviet Union that invaded Afghanistan, and saying that Russian = Soviet Union is like saying that Malaysia = ASEAN or France = EU. And two, as a professor who goes online rather often, he should have known that the Internet has an excellent memory and it was expected of him to fact-check before posting anything on the Internet.

And I don't know why people are lapping up everything posted by Internet celebrities. I have just finished reading a Facebook status from a famous photographer about GST and oh wow, he's so full of himself. Dunno why people are quick to push aside credible opinions made by credible sources like the economists and totally believe everything someone who has little grasp on economics and politics says.

The world is more complex and complicated than we know. The more I learn about things, the more reluctant I am to pick up sides when it comes to arguments/dividing opinions. Oh and I came across this when I was browsing /r/askscience today.

No. The species concept is much more complex and not well defined. Species often don't truly "exist". It's a concept that allows humans to classify things. The inability to produce fertile offspring definition is simply the introduction to the species concept. The more you learn, the more you realize how complex and blurred species boundaries are. There are many "species" capable of producing fertile hybrids but are considered morphologically and/or genetically distinct enough, or that are reproductively isolated from one another to warrant their own taxonomic classification. That being said, many scientists consider Neanderthals a subspecies because we interbred.

tl;dr Species are a concept without firm clear boundaries or definitive definition.

An opinion given to this question. My mind is officially blown. It's beyond amazing.
