I need to continue writing about Tokyo but sorryy I'm on an X-Files binge ahahaha I'm currently at S05E07 Emily.
Btw, I participated in a flood relief programme for a few days and I just got back home on Sunday night. All I can say is that it was a humbling experience. Most volunteers are flood victims themselves but they make time to help others too. These people are strong, I know they can overcome any obstacles.
One of the many flood stories that stays with me was told by an Akak whom I met while delivering supplies to her house. She woke up at 4AM because she felt the bed was moving, and when she tried to get out of bed, instead of the floor, her feet touched water. So she woke her husband up and bundled up her 2 kids to make a move to the flood relief centre. The moment all of them got into the car, the water level increased rapidly which made travelling to the centre impossible and they had no other choice except to sit in the car and prayed that the water level would decrease so they could go to a safer place and the water level did decrease....2 days later. In those 2 days, the family of 4 only had a pack of bread and a bottle of mineral water to fill their stomachs. The Akak also said in all her 17 years living in that house, that was the first time her house was badly hit by flood.
Sorry, I took no photos so I can't post any here, but the situation is as bad as the news reported. Besides, everyone is posting all sorts of flood photos on every surface available on the internet, so yeah, you can click on those too.
If you're interested to donate, please donate food and baby items (diapers, milk, etc) because when I left, they were short on those items. There were an abundance of clothes, so I don't think they need more. And please, please, please make sure that you're donating via reliable organisations.
