Tough love

I love my brother to death, but even I can see that he is a spoiled brat and he's turning into an asshole. Everytime he's in trouble, he expects my parents or his sisters to clean up the mess he has created. I told my Mom that she needs to practice tough love on him (like she does on us) or he won't know the meaning of responsibility even when it bites him in the ass, and now my Mom and I are having altercations! Over him!

I get so angry when I think of this.

Oh by the way, I finally watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and except for the 48-frames-per-second issue, I loved it. What can I say? Despite my misgivings about J.R.R Tolkien's books, you can never fault the man's imagination. And the movie truly captured his imagination.

Oh and talking about my misgivings about the books (echewah poyo betul), I think they're too descriptive. In case you didn't know, Mr Tolkien made a thorough research about the subjects of his books, you know, dwarves, trolls, goblins, the arts and crafts, architecture of buildings in places like Rivendell and Lonely Mountain, etc, etc, so I can understand why he spent too much time and pages describing such and such in his books but man, reading 2 pages of how a troll actually looks like really takes some of the fun out of it.

But that's just me. I know many people who enjoy reading Tolkiens, I'm just not one of them.

If you're unfamiliar with The Hobbit and you've been wondering why the movie ended the way it was and you're too impatient to wait until the next 2 years to know the ending, I'm kind enough to do a research and make a condensed version of a 330-page book for you (a.k.a do a 3-second google search and skim the wiki page). Please note that you're about to venture into a realm where spoilers are in abundance so carry on at your own risk. Don't say I didn't warn you.

You see, the tale circled in red has been told in An Unexpected Journey. As you can see, that 3-hour movie only took up about 2/5 of the whole story. It needs to be told in 3 3-hour movies because one is not enough.

p/s: I googled Richard Armitage (the guy who plays Thorin) and he's gorgeous.
