I don't know what to think of France. I mean, I love all the buildings, but man I had such a bad time when I was there.
Okay I wrote in a previous post that a huge chunk of my cash was spent on train fares. Here's why.
I flew to Amsterdam from Manchester (via easyJet, worst airline ever. Not recommended at all. Very cheap though) and spent 2 nights there. I was supposed to be in Amsterdam for 3 nights but I spent 1 1/2 days in Hamburg. You see, on a whim, I took a midnight train to Hamburg (because they were selling the tickets for half the price) and it took me 5++ hours to reach Hamburg. And then jalan-jalan around the train station lepas tu balik Amsterdam balik serius bangang dan buang duit. I met the backpackers I told you in the Belgium post in Amsterdam, and here comes the France part.
I just wanna say that I will forever be scarred for what happened to me in France. We took a train from Schiphol to Paris Nord and things got a little hazy (translation: the haziness was only in my mind) after we reached Paris Nord. I still don't understand or remember how it happened, but suddenly we found ourselves boarding a train to God knows where but the train conductor told us to step out of the train in Montpellier. None of us had reached Montpellier before that so all of us were very lost, and language barrier added to the confusion. There was only one person who could speak French among us but he was still high from smoking pot that he wasn't helping at all.
If you're wondering how far Paris to Montpellier is, here's a rough estimation.
A few hundred KMs separate the two cities yo. Dunno how long the journey was too because I slept the whole time. Sedar-sedar dah sampai Montpellier. And the journey alone took up more than half a day. Itu baru pergi, belum lagi nak patah balik Paris balik. Pengsan.
After that, we took a few trains to go back to Paris but everyone was so cranky and exhausted that no one wanted to enjoy the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame or anything French. And I was so upset with how the French treated us (I swear, it's like seeing us suffered was an entertainment to them) that I totally forgot the reason why I insisted on going to Paris; Musee du Louvre (needless to say, I didn't get anywhere near the museum). We took a train to Belgium not long after we reached Paris because we wanted to leave France and the bad experiences as quickly as possible, and that was why we arrived at the Brussels train station at 2AM, the time when the thugs were having fun.
I only realised that I spent 2 days in the trains in France while I was calculating my budget. Gila weiii. 2 days of my life disappeared just like that. I guess that was my punishment because I sinned too greatly in Amsterdam hahah balasan lah kot.
And I really don't get the backpackers I hooked up with. Most of them are Americans and I don't know, it's like their life goal is to try out all the pubs along their paths. They were drunk most of the time, and if they weren't drunk, they were high on crack. I don't get them, really. Why bother backpacking if all they wanted to do was to get wasted?
Oh and one of them is a Buddhist and while all of them were drinking beer, this Buddhist guy and I ordered glasses of fresh orange hahah what a pair of freaks.

When I have the time maybe :D
Are you from Kuching?
Yup. I am from Kuching. However, we don't know each other.
I stumbled across your blog the other day while searching for "Petronas interview". I have read pretty much all of your posts from the early days (ya, I have no life) and I really enjoy your posts. I hope that doesn't sound too stalker-ish. :P
Haha no worries. Being the close-minded creature that I am, I thought you were Aziemah's friend :D
