Let girls be girls

It's ironic to notice how beautiful these photographs are when they're portraying such sad lives of these young girls.

I won't pretend that I understand their cultures, but all I can say is that having sex with children is wrong. And the parents are at fault too for forcing these marriages on these babies.

May God protect these little ones.

And since we're on the child brides (and pregnancy too, I guess) topic (s), let me ask you a question. What would you do if your teenage, unmarried daughter ends up pregnant or your child come out as a gay or a mak nyah? Would you cast them aside? Would you disown them? Would you still see them but discreetly because you want no one to know you're still in contact with them? Seriously, what would you do?

Someone I know happened to be in one of these scenarios, and man, was I shocked to hear she said "Kalau dia mati sekalipun aku takkan mengaku anak". I don't understand how can you hate someone who you carried and nurtured for 9 months and then just because you're disappointed with the way this person (and your child!) turns out to be, you just wipe him/her away from your life without a moment's notice. I don't know, whomever he/she turns out to be, this is still your child, takkan takde sekelumit pun sayang kan? Isn't it better to have a child who is still alive than a dead one?

I really don't know. I'm not a mother so I really can't say about things like these.

One thing I really know is you can't stop teenagers from having sex. They're stupid and curious about things. They do things without thinking about the consequences. That's why I think that sex education is important. You can't stop them from having sex, but you can educate them about protection. And hell no I'm not encouraging amoral activities, I just don't want to live another day of reading about baby-dumping.

Two wrongs don't make a right, people.
