Cautionary tale
Read about this earlier this month, finally had the courage to watch the video last weekend. And man, was it heartbreaking.
She posted this video on September 9, and committed suicide on October, 10. Before you said things like "she brought this to herself", kindly be reminded that all these happened when she was 13 and a 13-year-old doesn't have the mental strength of an adult, hell, I was 13 and stupid once, you guys were 13 and stupid once too. She was lonely, and felt that she was facing the world alone so I can almost understand (almost, but not quite) what drove her to do the things she did. She was just a kid with learning disabilities and that makes it a whole lot sadder.
And I'm not glorifying suicides. But you just won't understand what goes on in their heads you know. I read a few articles on suicide when a close friend underwent a rough period and considered on committing suicide but I felt more confused because not one shit can tell me the reasons why these people took or attempting to take their own lives. All I can say is that, human minds are so bizarre, one moment you're thinking of one thing, and the next you know, you're cutting yourself. And no, I'm not making light of suicides too. I don't know what to think, really, but I do know that depression is not to be taken lightly. It can kill you, bit by bit.
Okay, enough of that.
This is happening more and more frequently now. Just remember that bad guys are everywhere so please, please, please stop posting things that are too personal or private on social networks. I'm afraid to log into my Facebook page sometimes for fear of what I'll see. So you just had a bad breakup with your Class A bitch of an ex-girlfriend but she doesn't deserve for her private photos to be seen by the public (true story). Someone I know even posted the phone number of his husband's ex-girlfriend on Facebook because she was annoyed the said ex-girlfriend called the husband one night (very true story). I swear, some people just don't know when to stop.
You just can't trust anyone right now, even me!!!!! because I just told on my friends. Damn, I'm such a hypocrite. But please, refrain yourselves before you post anything that might jeopardise your career or your relationships with people or even your life. This is a cautionary tale for me too because I like to complain about my workmates and the people I know on Facebook and since I've found myself in enough trouble for what I posted, I should've known better.
RIP Amanda Todd. May you finally find the peace you seek.
