I'll drink to that

I drafted a post about my exit interview with my former firm's HR manager but I stopped midway because things suddenly got too personal. I can tell you this though, in my exit form, I jot down each and every dissatisfaction I've encountered while working with the firm and the exit interview took more than an hour because, well, because the HR manager asked me to tell her everything. I thought, oh what the hell, it's not as if I'm going to see her again so I did.

I told her everything.

And then she told me that I should've applied to oil & gas and multinational corporations because of my English AND I would get a better offer if I stayed for, let's say, 6 more months (one of the managers promised me he would fight tooth and nail to get me promoted when he knew I've been going on for interviews). That statement prompted me to tell her that I have a friend whose English is so atrocious it would've caused wars and yet she's working in Petronas right now. I even showed her the girl's facebook page when she looked at me in disbelief.

Well, this is one of her statuses;

"Dear all my Muslim friends, I wished you Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I am seek your forgiveness for all my wrong doings. Maaf zahir dan batin. Have a great one with your families and stay safe always! :)"

What on Earth is she talking about eh?

You know, I singled her out not because I'm jealous of her or anything but I'm getting tired of all the "oh Petronas only recruits first-class degrees only/ people who can speak English fluently only/ etc, etc", I don't know, just spare me the lies, please?

Actually I already know what my true calling is. I want to be involved in market research, you know, speculating and predicting the future but since everyone, including my parents told me to stay at the new place for at least 2 years, I think I have to shelve that plan for now. Besides, the stock market is not looking very good nowadays so yeah, here's to hoping it will become better once I reach the targeted 2 years. I really hope it won't be too late for me to start something new when I finally get my ass out of here.
