I always find it weird when non-fans are filling venues. I don't know, it grates on my nerves when I hear things like "Oh we're not fans of so and so, we just know 2 or 3 songs." And then when the band comes on to the stage, holy fuck they whip off their cameras/phones, start taking an awful load of pictures, dance like a one-legged dog and block everyone's view most of the time.
Well, maybe not everyone, just people who are vertically-challenged, like me.
If you're not a fan, then why the hell were you there last night? The cheapest tickets were RM128, and that was only if you were an early bird. And if you're not a fan, don't you think that you were just wasting your time waiting for almost 3 hours before MGMT appeared?
MGMT started performing at 10.10PM or something. The show was supposed to start at 8PM but they only allowed us into the freaking arena at almost 9PM. I don't know whether it was MGMT who was late (something I find hard to believe because I've been hearing how disciplined they can be) or some other people but holy fuck, that was unforgivable. And the sound system was so awful to the sound of stupid. Really, dear Mr Organizer, your half-done, half-hearted efforts convinced me not to go to any concert/showcase organized by you ever again.
Back to the "we're not fans of MGMT" issue, well, maybe because I don't have money lying around so I find it odd to fork out some money to go and see a band I don't fancy. Man, I still remember how hard it was for me to fork out my hard-earned money to buy the Muse ticket. Well, maybe not hard-earned, but I was still a student at that time and yeah, it was still a struggle. So don't you fucking dare say something like "we're not fans , we're just here because we have so much money we don't know what to do with it". And no, knowing all the words to "Kids" and "Time to Pretend" does not make you a fan. Dunno why I'm so worked up over this. It's their money and time, and they can do whatever they want with their money and time. But I guess being surrounded by pretentious hipsters/douchebags/spoilt brats took out all the fun in me.
Dumbasses.
Have I mentioned how fucked the organizers were?
The security checks were ridiculous too. They separated the males and females but there was no notice about that. Some group of people got all huffed up and then a guy in red t-shirt and glasses said "We're in Kelantan, people". Well, dude from poptv, it's not funny, actually that's downright insulting.
I should've worn my red "Gomo Kelate Gome" t-shirt, to hell with them. Instead, I changed my pants to jeans in the car because I only managed to get out from the office at 6.45PM. And I wore my working blouse throughout the day and night.
So anyway. HOLY MOTHER OF HOLY FREAKS IT'S MGMT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank goodness the show was awesome. And errrr...........I've put too much effort on writing what I found wrong with last night's show that I don't have any idea what to write about them hahahahahaha fail. Suffice to say that the wait was worth it.
Wait for the photos, people.
