Pirating the pirated pirates

So last night I was lepaking with some people and this one minah told some shit about her friend who downloads movies via a paid website (RM50/month) and as an advocate for everything free, I immediately asked her lah why doesn't she use torrent. And minah said some shit about her friend is an IT exec who's a master at everything tech and all, maybe so that I didn't counter what she said. I had some replies to that, I swear, but I smartly kept my mouth shut. And then she said that after 2 months of playing in cinemas, you can already download HQ movies accompanied with correct subtitles. I assume she was comparing to the subtitles that people got from the pirated VCDs lah kot. I don't think DVDs have cringe-worthy subtitles.

I wonder, do people still buy pirated DVDs and VCDs?

Anyway, I rolled my eyes after she finished telling us her shits.

I usually wait about 3 weeks to torrent a DVD quality/ HQ movie. And there are tonnes of subtitles websites on the net. I usually go to subscene.com/.

I really want to meet this IT exec person. Maybe that person can teach and tell me a thing or two, like why in hell paying RM50/month just to download movies is justifiable.

Oh and she showed us some kain that her friend bought in Vietnam for her. The kain is USD 32 and then she announced that Malaysian Ringgit has strengthened against the USD, as if no one was aware of that. I wanted to tell her that it's not a case of MYR is getting stronger, but because most major currencies are getting weaker. They've lost a lot of value due to the economic downturn, which I believe is still around despite the reassurance that the worst is over. But then, I'm not an expert to properly convey my opinion though.

Really, I had a lot to say last night, but since I only met some of them for the first time last night, I don't think it's in my place to start an argument, no matter how much I wanted it.

I'm supporting Italy wholeheartedly, as everyone knows but I think Argentina is one of the teams to watch, apart from Spain (so help me God please no), Holland, Brazil, Germany and maybe the African teams.
