That busker in KL Sentral I told you before. He didn't look too happy to see me with my phone so I put on a smile and said "Hi Bang, good play! Thumbs up!" lepas tu jalan laju-laju takut kena marah haha.
I've always been fascinated with the Malaysian political scene. Every politician in this country has spun enough bullshits to keep the devil happy and that amazes me. But of course, just like every other thing that I've taken an interest in, my interest in anything political has waned considerably over the time. I even made it a point to ignore all the news related to the Hulu Selangor by-election, well, because it's the same old story anyway. I did read about Zaid Ibrahim's sins though. Everything that has the word "sin" in it would capture my attention immediately.
I think that everything that needs to be said about the by-election has been said. I don't think I have enough knowledge and experience to say anything anyway. Most of them are mere nonsense I think. But I do know that most of us are hoping for a transparent and honest election for a change. Oh well, it's easier to resurrect Mother Teresa than to hope for a transparent and honest election to materialise in the near future.
And the fact that the numbers of the voters who turned up that day did not tally with the final physical vote count is incredible. Only in Malaysia, my friends, only in Malaysia.
I think that both sides have their own pros and cons and the cons outweigh the pros. Do I think that Malaysia would be a better place without the current leaders? Yes I do. Do I think that DSAI can be a great Prime Minister? Maybe, but I don't think so. Do I think that the opposition has what it takes to take over the reign? No I don't.
Because they're too idealistic. I know that being idealistic is a good thing, but you have to be realistic enough too to keep your toes on the ground. And they're too dependant on the Chinese votes. If they want to win the next general election, they have to win the Malay votes from the BN. They need to find the support from the rural areas. I still don't understand why these people think it's better for them to have the support from the people in urban areas. What about the Indian votes and lain-lain kaum? They're too unpredictable. One moment they can swing to one side, the next, they would swing to another. The internal bickerings in each coalition don't help their causes too. And Liverpool has a better chance to win next year's premier league than for us to see an honest politician. Oh wait, pardon me. Politicians and honesty are worlds apart. They just don't mix.
That's what I think lah.
It's frustrating. It's like you can't pledge your support to any party at all.
Al-Fatihah to Aminulrashid too. Too many conflicting stories have come up and that's so sad. Even the said "police report" by Arwah's friend has many loopholes. It's not a matter whether Arwah did any wrongdoing or what, the policemen had no right to pull the trigger and shot him in the head in the first place.
