Yeah, I think so too.
I think it's general knowledge that the candles they used to replace the lights release more greenhouse gases than normal bulbs (newsflash: lighting bulbs doesn't release greenhouse gases, the burning of the fossil fuels to generate the electricity does). That's why it's more advisable to use a flash light instead of a candle when you're in the dark. So, you chest-thumping environmentalists, you 're harming this planet more than the rest of us who switched on the lights during the Earth Hour can ever do.
That's just one of the reasons why I think Earth Hour is shit.
I think my biggest issue with Earth Hour is that it implies that by reducing power usage FOR AN HOUR, you're actually doing the Mother Earth a big favour. Maybe you are, but I don't think so. I mean, most people don't even know about the carbon released from candles and such, let alone to know why they're supporting such a glorified event.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not being my snobbery self here, I'm just voicing out my opinion. I'd even admit to being wrong if there is an ounce of evidence saying that Earth Hour is doing its bits in educating people about the environment but right now, all evidence points to the contrary.
And I really wish that people at least know their shits to at least talk about it instead of follow things blindly.

Aziemah once explained that global warming is just a hoax and what's happening to the world right now (natural disasters every day, etc, etc) is leading up to the disruption of this period to give way to another period. Do you understand what I mean? I mean, the Palaeolithic Age gave way to Mesolithic Age. Then, Mesolithic Age gave way to Neolithic Age and so forth. Or I can put it this way;
Stone Age (Ice Age?) -->Bronze Age -->Iron Age-->Roman Conquest/ancient Greece/China--> Religious Conquests -->Modern World (I *THINK* this is the right historiography).
So all those disasters are a nature's way to be ready for another period, from the Modern World to, I don't know, "Ultra-Modern World"?
I'm not very good at explaining things, but I think you get my meaning.
Don't get me (and Aziemah) wrong. That's what she thinks. I still think that global warming exists. She could be right though. 2012 is only 2 years away after all.
God, I need you Aziemah (and Ijan too). Most of the people I meet nowadays are dull and err...stupid? I even have to explain my jokes to them. SO WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?
