Just and lasting peace

I was in the car when I heard that Petronas strikes a deal to hunt for oil in Iraq. This came only A MONTH(!!!!) after the news that ExxonMobil has bagged the rights to develop the oil district in West Qurna.

I'm just saying.

Obama finally shows his true colours I guess. That was some WTF-kind-of speech he gave while accepting the prematurely (and now I think undeservedly) Nobel Peace Prize. "We will not eradicate violent conflicts in our lifetimes" my ass.

And don't give me that "he-inherited-this-situation-and-it-takes-more-than-a-term-to-turn-things-around" arguments. Pffts!! Everyone knows THAT. What I'm saying here is that Dearly Beloved Mr President is reneging on his "world peace, no war" manifestos. Meh, what am I saying? It's obvious to see that he's nothing but talk when he refused to shut down Guantanamo.

I have to share this comment from reuters.com;

Success will not change anything.

Even if Obama does something worthy of a nobel peace prize at a later date in the future, it will not change the fact that he was given the nobel prize for doing nothing.

Now it is perfectly fine to buy into Obama’s popularity and his rhetoric. But neither of these are reasons to give a peace prize.

If people believe that nobel peace prizes should be given on a popularity basis or for what people say they will try to do in the future, then they are missing the entire point of the award.

The nobel prize is supposed to be awarded for actual deeds and actions. Not mere words and promises.

The committee is a fool for giving the prize to Obama, and he is a fool for accepting it. Both have destroyed an award once thought to have value.

This person took the words right out of my head.

On a more important topic, I can't wait to watch Avatar. That movie is going to be epic. Whether it'll be just epic or epic fail, we'll have to wait and see.
