this is a cruel, cruel world we live in.
you see, there are a lot of things about me that i don't mind. i don't mind my tanned skin, or my small eyes, or the fact that i'm as big as a 12-year-old girl. okay, okay, i mind about that but i'm sure i wouldn't mind it as much if i'm not pressurized into thinking that being short and small is not the "in" thing.
i'm pretty sure that if Malaysians' view of beauty does not include being fair and radiant, i wouldn't feel stressed to buy any whitening products and faithfully apply the whitening lotion all over my body every night. what is wrong with having darker skin than others? only in Malaysia and certain parts in Asia do the people perceive that the fairer you are, the prettier you will be. that's not the sad part, because the sad part is, i'm helpless to do anything about it and i just go with the flow. come on, if i were in any other countries, the colour of my skin wouldn't bother the people as much. because the sight of my hijab bothers them more.
i get tanned easily. 2 hours on the beach without sunscreen would turn my skin into the same colour of Akon's. ok, maybe not, but close enough. when i got back from Kemaman the other day, one of the first questions that my friends asked when they saw me was "kenapa berkilat sangat?" T_T. kejam betul. and that prompted me to buy some whitening masks even though before this, i only bought pore-refining masks. see? i am reduced to that level. sadness.
what about my small eyes, you would ask? have you ever heard of eyeliners? they're my saviour these days.
too bad i can't say the same about my nose though. i still hate my nose with a passion.
the Malaysians are becoming obsessed with beauty more and more everyday. the Malaysian guys are allergic to girls with dark skin and we, the girls with not-so-fair skin can't do anything but to cater to their whims.
now, do you see what i mean when i say that this is a cruel world we live in?

Wani,
Might just as well mention about 'this' size and 'that' size that guys prefer. It is just not us Malaysians that are obsessed with beauty, but it's pretty much a worldwide 'disease'.
You would think after centuries of living, brain would come first. Meh. We're always right at the beginning, where beauty and money rules. Though I can't say the same about Paris Hilton.
i dont like fair people, cz to me yeah they are pretty but boring. i prefer tanned or darker skin,,cz it will make they look hotter!
well i dont even know how to clssify my skin..im not fair..n im not dark either..so urm??
i really hate when people are always judge how pretty you are depends on how fair your skin is..

fair skin are boring trust me.
ummi, i wanted to mention about the size too, but i figured it should have its own entry. it truly is sickening to see what we are reduced to do. don't even get me started on botox and plastic surgeries.
baru, i don't know how to classify my skin too. lily calls it kuning, but i always call it dark. come on, most of the fair-skinned people are not even that beautiful. look at megan fox for instance, she's so tanned but she's still beautiful.
