it's a sick, sick world

i don't know why i always subject myself to torture. just this morning, after i read this article, i puked for what seemed like forever because the unspeakable crimes are just sickening. i really need to stop reading about crimes and all, because these stories are depressing me. that's what happens when you have all the time in the world. you would end up worrying about everything

anyway....

i know my English is not good enough and needs some major polishing, but like an average person, i can spot anyone who speaks good English and who doesn't. if you've spent your afternoons watching Spa Q 2 for months like me, you'd notice whose English is good enough and whose grammar is sadly lacking. and, i can tell you that most of them speak in schoolchildren's English (i blame the scriptwriter for that. so unimaginative.). actually, come to think of it, even children can form grammatically-correct sentences and pronounce words correctly. i can't say the same about most of the actors in Spa Q 2 though......

well, i'm rambling, but it's true. so, imagine my shocked face when i happened to read this. i don't understand why people always assume that Singaporeans' English are better than Malaysians. have you heard them talk? if you haven't, just be thankful for that.

actually,  i don't understand at all why Malaysians seem to place everything about Singapore in the highest regard.why? because their country is one of the cleanest countries in the world? but the air pollution is so bad there. because Singapore is a developed country? have you read the thread where i said that Singapore is one of the busiest ports in Asia because of what the English had achieved centuries ago? i don't know, but the disloyalty shown by my own countrymen is disheartening.

anyway, have you heard Norish Karman's English? i have, and even my own gibberish, grammatically-incorrect English sounds superior than hers, and i'm not exaggerating. (Kak Norish kita, could you do us a favour and stop denying about your plastic surgeries, please? it's starting to get on everyone's nerves).

am i the only who's annoyed with the dialogues in some of the Malay dramas and movies? God, sometimes i just want to bang my head on the table just to block the horror of hearing the dialogues. and don't even mention to me about their acting. God, their acting..it's unexplainable.on a good note, at least, Malay dramas and movies are more endurable than most of the sinetrons.
