i don't deny that Brad Pitt is growing as an actor but he's not at the point where people will say "wow" yet. it's truly a pity, because at his age, he's still struggling to get to his finest act, where actors almost half his age like James McAvoy, Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger are at the point where he wants to be.
i'm not surprised to see Slumdog Millionaire won all the awards the movie was nominated in. i'm totally hooked to the trailers, and the promoters for the film is clever enough to include the most honest, moving and touching scenes in the 2-minutes trailers. too bad the movie will not be shown in Malaysia anytime soon because the last time i checked on the GSC website (which is a minute ago), there is no mention about the movie. The Wrestler also suffers the same fate.
now, i don't want to start the complaints against Lembaga Penapisan Filem. i think i've said enough in my previous posts
There are only four movies that have won all the categories they nominated in, Doctor Zhivago, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, A Star is Born and Slumdog Millionaire. Out of these four films, i've only watched two, Doctor Zhivago, because it has Julie Christie ( i love Julie Christie!) and the ever young-looking Omar Sharif, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, although i forgot what attracted me to the movie at that time.
my first attempt at watching One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest resulted in my falling asleep during the movie. well, i was in primary school at that time, and words like catatonia and lobotomy made no sense to me. i watched the movie for the second time about 2 years ago, and the movie definitely made an impact to me. mind you, this is after i've watched The Green Mile, and Chief, a character in that movie, reminded me of John Coffey.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a movie that gives the words "crazy" and "submission" a whole new meaning. the movie is endearing, and scary and so brilliant at the same time, that it's easy to overlook its weaknesses. i haven't read the novel, although i heard that it's not as good as the movie. one interesting fact about the movie, it was filmed in Salem, Oregon, not to be confused with Salem, Massachusetes where witches were burned centuries ago.
now, wouldn't it be more interesting if the movie was filmed in Salem, Massachussets? then Nurse Ratched can blame all the craziness on witchcraft.

I did watch! Too bad Leo didn't win. I really love see him acting. I missed most part of the show cuz I was watching the Red Carpet aired at the same time! The dresses weren't really that mesmerizing but it was fun to watch. I love Salma Hayek's dress! While Tina Fey's is not flattering at all I'll give credit for her role as Exec Producer for 30 Rock.. I love seeing Jen and Mark Anthony together. They are so cute not pretentious like what I see in Brangelina.. Did you know that Miss Golden Globe is Willis's daughter? I like the hair do! And I was wondering who that girl could be. I figured it was Rumer Willis. And plus I figured that this Mr/Miss Golden Globe was selected amongst the celebrity's child. Hoho
They sure did pick somebody! Not anybody..
