chasing pavement

did any of you know that there are 110 categories in the Grammy? impressive, don't you think? i'm rooting for Adele who is nominated for several ( i'm too lazy to count) awards, including record of the year and best female pop vocal performance. yay, Adele, go kick you-copycat-bitch-you-think-i-didn't-know-there's-a-90s-I-Kissed-A-Girl-song-by-Jill-Sobule? Katy Perry's and that transsexual-looking female also known as Leona Lewis's butts! c'mon, Adele, you can do it!

i'm also crossing my fingers for Radiohead who is nominated for album of the year. go RH! go RH! (chanting ala Lakers cheerleaders. damn, they're annoying).

anyway, i just found out that there is a possibility of 1 million, i repeat, 1 million people who are going to lose their jobs, including those working in Singapore and excluding the foreign workers. now, how am i going to find a job when there are millions that are going to lose theirs?

what i find it hard to believe is that the government is biding their time by beating around the bush! they never told us how badly the economic downturn is affecting us. yes, they told us that thousands will lose their jobs during the year and factories will be closed down and all, but they told us that it will be temporary! not that i make a habit of believing everything they said, but hey, i'm pissed. how can they downplay the bleak future of ours?

thank God, now i can blame my laziness on the recession i am so mad!
